ܥܠ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܥܕܢܐ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܣܢܝܩܝܬܘܢ ܠܡܟܬܒ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn lmkthb snyqythwn l' 'khy wedn' dyn zbn' el
But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܐܝܟ ܓܢܒܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܬܐ
'th' hkn' blly' gnb' 'yk dmrn dywmh 'nthwn ydeyn shryr'yth gyr 'nthwn
For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.

ܟܕ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܗܘ ܘܫܝܢܐ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܡܢܫܠܝܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܐܒܕܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܒܠܐ ܥܠ ܒܛܢܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܡܕܘܢ
nmdwn wl' bTnth' el khbl' 'yk 'bdn' elyhwn nqwm mnshly' whydyn wshyn' hw dshlm' n'mrwn kd
For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܕܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܓܢܒܐ ܢܕܪܟܟܘܢ
ndrkkwn gnb' 'yk ywm' dhw bkhshwk' hwythwn l' 'khy dyn 'nthwn
But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

ܟܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܢܝ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܒܢܝ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܠܠܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܢܝ ܚܫܘܟܐ
khshwk' bny wl' lly' bny hwythwn wl' 'ymm' wbny 'nthwn nwhr' bny gyr klkwn
You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,

ܠܐ ܢܕܡܟ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܝܟ ܫܪܟܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܥܝܪܝܢ ܘܡܗܘܢܝܢ
wmhwnyn eyryn hwyn 'l' shrk' 'yk hkyl ndmk l'
so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.

ܐܝܠܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܕܡܟܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܪܘܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܪܘܝܢ
rwyn hw blly' drwyn w'ylyn dmkyn hw blly' ddmkyn gyr 'ylyn
For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.

ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܢܝ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܚܢܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܥܝܪܝܢ ܒܪܥܝܢܢ ܘܠܒܝܫܝܢ ܫܪܝܢܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܕܚܘܒܐ ܘܢܣܝܡ ܣܢܘܪܬܐ ܕܣܒܪܐ ܕܚܝܐ
dkhy' dsbr' snwrth' wnsym wdkhwb' dhymnwth' shryn' wlbyshyn breynn eyryn hwyn khnn 'ymm' dbny dyn khnn
But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܣܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܪܘܓܙܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܩܢܝܢܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
mshykh' yshwe bmrn dkhy' lqnyn' 'l' lrwgz' 'lh' smn dl' mTl
For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

ܗܘ ܕܡܝܬ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܕܐܢ ܥܝܪܝܢܢ ܘܐܢ ܕܡܟܝܢܢ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܥܡܗ ܢܚܐ
nkh' emh 'kkhd' dmkynn w'n eyrynn d'n 'pyn el dmyth hw
who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܒܝܐܘ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܘܒܢܘ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܥܒܕܝܬܘܢ
ebdythwn d'p 'ykn' lkhd khd wbnw lkhd khd by'w hn' mTl
Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܘܩܝܡܝܢ ܒܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܘܡܠܦܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn wmlpyn bmrn b'pykwn wqymyn bkwn dl'yn l'ylyn ydeyn dhwythwn 'khy mnkwn dyn beynn
But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,

ܕܗܘܘ ܚܫܝܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܘܡܛܠ ܥܒܕܗܘܢ ܐܫܬܝܢܘ ܥܡܗܘܢ
emhwn 'shthynw ebdhwn wmTl ythyr' bkhwb' lkwn khshybyn dhww
and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake.
Be at peace among yourselves.

ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܪܕܘ ܠܡܣܟܠܢܐ ܘܠܒܒܘ ܠܙܥܘܪܝ ܢܦܫܐ ܘܣܒܘ ܛܥܢܐ ܕܡܚܝܠܐ ܘܐܓܪܘ ܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܟܠܢܫ

We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.

ܘܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܢܦܪܘܥ ܐܠܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܗܪܛܘ ܒܬܪ ܛܒܬܐ ܠܘܬ ܚܕܕܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܟܠܢܫ
klnsh wlwth khdd' lwth Tbth' bthr hrTw bklzbn 'l' nprwe byshth' khlp byshth' mnkwn 'nsh dlm' w'zdhrw
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.

ܘܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܗܘܘ ܡܘܕܝܢ ܗܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܟܘܢ
bkwn mshykh' byshwe d'lh' tsbynh gyr hnw mwdyn hww mdm wbkl
In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

ܟܠܡܕܡ ܒܩܘ ܘܕܫܦܝܪ ܐܚܘܕܘ
'khwdw wdshpyr bqw klmdm
Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܢܩܕܫܟܘܢ ܓܡܝܪܐܝܬ ܠܟܠܟܘܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܘܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܘܦܓܪܟܘܢ ܢܢܛܪ ܕܠܐ ܪܫܝܢ ܠܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
mshykh' yshwe dmrn lm'thythh rshyn dl' nnTr wpgrkwn wnpshkwn rwkhkwn wklh lklkwn gmyr'yth nqdshkwn dshlm' 'lh' dyn hw
May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܕܩܪܟܘܢ ܕܗܘ ܢܥܒܕ
nebd dhw dqrkwn mn hw mhymn
He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.

ܫܐܠܘ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܕܐܚܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܘܫܩܬܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ
qdyshth' bnwshqth' klhwn d'khyn bshlm' sh'lw
Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.

ܡܘܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܕܬܬܩܪܐ ܐܓܪܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܚܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ
qdysh' 'kh' lklhwn hd' 'grth' dththqr' bmrn lkwn 'n' mwm'
I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
